Mirk, (formerly “Mirk & the New Familiars”) is an American musical group from Albany, New York, founded in 2009 whose music has been characterized as a cross between the genres of pop, soul, rock, R&B, and hip-hop. Besides writing and performing their own music, Mirk has also been credited with producing music for Jay-Z, Petey Pablo, Eamon, Ciara, and Young Jeezy, among others; several have been certified “Platinum” and “Gold” by the RIAA.
The Hard Luck Souls are an original blues-influenced hard rock band from the Capital District.
The Paul Graves Trio is based out of the Capital Region offering an eclectic mix of hard blues, funk and folk. The trio was started by Paul Graves who draws his influences from Stevie Ray Vaughan, John Mayer and Eric Clapton. In early November 2018 he was scrambling to find a drummer and bassist for a gig that was just two weeks away and time was ticking. That’s when he was connected with Todd “Toddy” Friedman and Andy Farina almost simultaneously. Todd is influenced by Jeff Porcaro, Simon Phillips and Carter Beauford. His go tos are funk and rock. Andy has been playing since 2009 and has a background in rock but loves to play all styles of music. Todd’s funk driven drum beats, Andy’s groovin’ bass lines and Paul’s tube screaming lead guitar are the foundations of this high powered trio.
