    MG3 -- In the Boneyard

Join MG3 in the Boneyard from 6-9:30 PM! Beginning in 2009, a weekly club date and an audience of vocal and attentive regulars at a local jazz club in Harlem NYC helped to shape the sound and concept for Melissa Gardiner’s jazz organ trio, MG3. The result is an engaging and soulful musical experience that reflects the energy of a heartfelt and artistic community. After graduating with a masters degree in jazz from The Juilliard School, Gardiner released her first album entitled Transitions in 2011. Now based in Syracuse, NY, the trio features Gardiner on trombone & vocals, accompanied by Dan Pugh on keys and Byron Cage drumset. All three musicians were brought up in the church with a background in gospel music. With added influence from the blues, soul, neo-soul, R&B, funk, and fusion, their diverse repertoire of original music, jazz standards and covers always focuses on a strong groove, combined with creative reharmonization and beautiful soaring melodies. MG3 recently won first place in the 2018 Bucharest International Jazz Competition, one of the top rated jazz competitions in Europe. Throughout Melissa Gardiner’s career, she has shared the stage with several notable musicians including Aretha Franklin, The Tempatations, Geri Allen, Wycliffe Gordon, Gerald Wilson, Patti Austin, Tia Fuller, Ingrid Jensen, Arturo O’Farrill and the Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra, Vulfpeck and Dave Matthews Band.

Babylon Sisters: The Music of Steely Dan -- Upstairs at the Dino

“We’re gonna break out the hats and hooters” and celebrate the eccentric genius of one of rock’s favorite bands, as interpreted by CNY Songbirds Donna Colton, Maureen Henesey, and Joanna Jewett. The show also features musicians Kristopher Heels, Frank Neubert, Jim O’Mahony, Melissa Gardiner, Sam Paterelli, Jeff Stockham and Don Williams.

The last time we presented Babylon Sisters the show sold out quickly and we had to turn away a lot of fans at the door, so we're super-excited to move to a bigger venue this time around - the mighty Dinosaur Bar-B-Que!

The doors open at 4 pm and the show starts at 5 pm. We are not serving food upstairs, but you can grab an early dinner in the restaurant or order take-out and bring it on up.

$20 pre-sale tickets are available on Eventbrite. Click here to buy your tickets!
